I am still on the road!
I haven’t been updating the blog, but if you’ve been keeping up with the podcast, you may know that I left Texas on the second day of this month, and made my way to Colorado. While I was waiting for my flight, I got a phone call from Sharon, a fellow brain injury survivor who I had only recently met, but we had a strong connection immediately. On this phone call, Sharon invited me to something very interesting. I was intrigued and told her that I’d see what we can work out (I’ll reveal what that is on the next podcast). So I got on my plane, and my flight departed… I was on my way to Colorado.
Colorado
While in Colorado, I got to see my pops, to go back to Revive Treatment Centers for some more neurorehabilitation, and I even got to go four-wheeling in a crazy off road “tank” called a RZR with my functional neurologist! That was awesome! I then left Colorado to go to Pittsburgh, which is where I am currently.
Pittsburgh, PA
I arrived in Pittsburgh one week ago on Sunday and spent all of last week with Team TBI, a comprehensive approach to brain injury treatment which I feel so blessed to be a part of! While here, I had my brain rescanned with High Definition Fiber Tracking at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), I hung out with Dan Pultz of Semper Fi Odyssey and several soldiers who had been brain injured in battle, and I met with an old friend who now teaches at Carnegie Mellon University. Pittsburgh is pretty cool!
Where to next?
ANSWER:
Calgary, Alberta, Canada!
When I was called while waiting for my flight to Colorado, Sharon invited me to something very special that will be revealed in the next podcast.
I asked where the location of this event was to be and Sharon told me that it was in Calgary Alberta.
“Calgary, Alberta!?!” I exclaimed… “Sharon… You know Michelle, my co-host who I have never actually met in person, LIVES. in. Calgary!?”
“No way!” Sharon gasped “The cohost of the Adventures in Brain Injury Podcast?”
“Yes.”
“I like her!” “How about this: We have two invitations, so invite her too!!”
We have been navigating the details ever since, and soon my adventure is going to actually physically meet with Michelle’s and we are going to have a very powerful adventure together! I will be going off the grid from the 27th through at least the 5th of July, and I am so ready for a digital detox… Even if it is in the midst of the pre book launch of the How to Feed a Brain book! This is all very exciting and I think you all will enjoy the epicness that is to come. Stay tuned, and thank you for joining us on the Adventure!
