Several months ago, I was grabbing a bite to eat at the original Whole Foods here in Austin when I sparked up a conversation with a man sitting next to me. His name was Jim, and he had a very gracious demeanor and was a pleasure to speak with. Several months ago, I was grabbing a bite to eat at the original Whole Foods here in Austin, when I sparked up a conversation with a man sitting next to me. His name was Jim, and he had a very gracious demeanor and was a pleasure to speak with.

I don’t tell people that I have a brain injury unless they ask or it is relevant, so he was unaware of my deficits until the point where we began to talk about writing. It turned out that Jim is a writer with over 30 years experience who used to write for Mayo Clinic! I told him about the book that I am writing and he asked to see some of my work.

I told him about what happened two years ago, and his eyes opened wide. We spentthe next few hours looking over several of my posts. Some of these posts were my very heartfelt, brutally honest, and personal ones, while others were some of the very scientific posts. Jim was impressed with my writing ability and wanted to be a part of this project by editing my work!

Since that day, Jim and I have been getting together most weekends and he has helped me to polish my first chapter and is currently helping me to polish thesecond. I am so grateful for the chance to work with someone who, not only has thecredentials and skills to help, but who is also an absolute pleasure to work with. If he continues to be willing to, he will help me to polish this entire book!
