In the last post, I outlined that no one is more qualified on your own thoughts and feelings than you. And because I no longer see any value in spending my time to prove my thoughts and feelings to anyone, it feels great to let those who are not curious go.
If you haven’t read the previous parts of this series, you can read Part 1 here and when you’re finished with this post, be sure to continue on and read Part 3 here.
For everyone else, thank you for being here for these next few emails where I will dive into my thoughts about our current global situation and how I refuse to be divisive and instead to simply dismiss that energy.
Thank you for inviting me to share a few of my perspectives:
MY PERSPECTIVES
The past year and a half has been, by far, the most divisive time period in my experience. It would seem that this divisiveness has been socially engineered because as long as people are divided against each other, they are not uniting against potential tyranny. In my observations, many global power moves are being made to take away human rights and the greatest and most timely divide at this point has been between those who believe that vaccines should be mandated and those who do not. This is clearly an important topic in 2021.
I do not believe that this discussion has anything to do with right or left, or liberal or conservative, or republican or democrat. This has to do with human beings being coerced, manipulated, or otherwise incentivized to receive an injection. This goes against every tenet of medical ethics, especially the first tenet, which states that the patient has the right to refuse and to choose their treatment.
While I don’t find this issue to have anything to do with left or right, one of my childhood friends informed me that there is an “anti-science and anti-intellectual movement being propagated by the right to sow discord and gain votes through fear and outrage.”
This does not resemble my recent experiences and relationships with many different people of very different political ideologies.
As you may have gathered, I have always been an independent thinker and thus I have registered as an independent voter in every state where I have registered to vote.
SYSTEMIC POLITICAL DIVISIVENESS
One of my favorite punk bands since middle school is a Canadian band called Propagandhi. I’d first like to say that just because they’re one of my favorite bands does not mean I agree with everything they say. For example, in their first album, during a breakdown in the music, the lyrics clearly say “well, if you’re dumb enough to vote… you’re f%&@in’ dumb enough to believe em’.” While I don’t necessarily agree with this, I appreciate the awareness of the lack of value in voting when the illusion of “choice” has been reduced to the smallest possible number (two).
And, both of those two “choices” take huge campaign contributions from big corporations and industry lobbyists like the pharmaceutical industry (including Mopderna, Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Johnson & Johnson, etc.).
It seems to me that this illusion of “choice” is more of an effective mechanism of divisiveness than a democratic governmental system. Again, as long as people are divided against each other, they aren’t uniting against potential tyranny.
I’d rather dismiss this mechanism of divisiveness and to instead unite with human beings (like you!).
Everyone has their own perspective and that perspective is always filtered through their veil of prior experiences and what they value. A coin may say one thing on one side, which is absolutely valid, and another thing on the other side, which is also absolutely valid. The perceptions are different of the same coin. And, if we are curious to see other perspectives rather than stuck in thinking that our own perception is “right,” and theirs is “wrong,” we have the ability to truly see what is in a much clearer way.
It’s been my experience that people’s perspectives make sense TO THEM. Taking cues from those I grew up amongst, I used to tell people that their perspective was wrong and would either silence them or criticize them or cut them off. I apologize for that intolerant behavior, which I now understand exemplifies what I call a petrified mind.
I have found much more value in trying to see things from their point of view and, if I feel that they may find my perspective to be valuable, I will then invite them to see it from mine. In doing so, I have much more success in relating with people and with expanding and shifting perspectives, both in myself and in others.
While some may be silenced from the judgement, labels, and other shame devices that are put on them, their perspective never truly changes and all that seems to be created is resentment and divisiveness. No one can unsee what they’ve seen, or unknow what they know.
In the next email, I’ll go into some of the specifics of what I have learned through my experience which has given me this awareness of exploitations of human beings, all in the name of “public health.” This has been done in many facets, including through nutrition, medications which create dependence (i.e. antacids), injections which require “boosters,” etc.).
